Generic conventions - Run Fat Boy Run

0:10 – Firstly at the beginning of the opening it shows a rather unfit/large man running. He is dressed as a police officer/security guard. The security guard bloke is sprinting after someone, the person he is chasing you cannot see at this point in the clip. The security bloke has a facial expression that shows he is struggling to breathe and/or is just unfit and cannot meet the demands of his environment. This shows the generic convention of comedy as it shows an overweight man he is practically useless due to the fact he is struggling to keep up even thought that is his job to chase thieves. This is funny for the audience as people find it funny when people suffering and this is an example of someone suffering therefore this will be humorous for the audience.

0:24 – At this stage of the clip we are able to see who the security guard is chasing. The person that the security guard was chasing was a black transsexual that was wearing brightly coloured clothes. The reason the security guard was chasing the person was because she stole a pair of what looked like underwear. From this it shows some traits of comedy as it shows the man struggling to breathe which will be found funny by our audience, also the fact that the woman is dressed the way she is will be found funny by our audience as what she is wearing is not seen to be normal therefore. In this opening scene you can see the why it is a comedy as certain things are put in place (simple thing, like the dress sense) to make people laugh and they have achieved this as when I was conducting my research I found out that this was a rather successful film.



0:51 : At this particular section of the clip it Shows the security man walking back to the shop where he works. He is giving the stolen underwear in the shop. He has a rather awkward facial expression on his face, this shows traits of a generic convention as he ran all that way chasing the transsexual just to return a pair underwear, the woman he stole the underwear looked like she didn't care that she stole them and you could see that she was taking the mick out of the security guard.
